CSA RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING MEMBERS

At its 40th Annual Conference, the Contract Services Association (CSA) recognized two volunteer leaders who have dedicated tremendous time and effort to the association.

For service to the association of nearly 20 years, Sterling Boon, founder of the Boon Group, was honored with a special “Lifetime Dedication Award.” CSA President Chris Jahn said of Sterling, “He has been a long time active member and CSA’s best de facto recruiter, supporter and champion. His close relationship with CSA has helped make the association what it is today and what it will be in the future.”  The Boon Group, formed in 1982, is a full-service employee benefits company specializing in the design, implementation and administration of cost-effective fringe benefit plans for Federal, state and local government contractors. Its niche market addresses the specific needs of Government services contractors who must comply with the Service Contract Act by providing particular benefits, often paid on an “hourly cost basis” to their employees.

Al Corvigno, Director Labor Relations for Lockheed Martin, received a special recognition award for his tireless efforts as Chairman of the CSA Labor Relations Committee. Said Jahn, “Al is the driving force behind re-energizing the Labor Relations Committee.” Under his leadership, CSA has revamped and expanded its training program for the Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition, the committee is making progress with the Department of Labor (DOL) on a number of issues that had languished for years (such as the creation of a WDOL website for internet access to SCA wage determination information).Jahn noted that “Al’s peers and staff personnel from the DOL and the Defense Department have recognized him as an expert on SCA and other important labor issues.” CSA is proud to have had Al as a member for over a decade.
