Successful HR Management

on Federal Contracts

March 27, 2007

8:00 AM Registration & Continental Breakfast

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Class

This class shows Project Managers how to use effective HR strategies to create a high-performing workforce on their Federal contracts.  It is offered in conjunction with "People Skills for Federal Project Managers" the following day.  Together, they are designed to provide a compact leadership toolkit for the Federal project manager.

This course gives participants a solid foundation in both employment law and HR strategy. The course is specifically designed for Federal contractors.

Lead instructor Wanda Johnson, a former employment prosecutor and regulator, now advises clients on ways to prevent employment problems. Her class for CSA distills the key knowledge that project managers and HR professionals need for Federal contracts.

This one-day course covers:

EEO Laws: The legal foundation for hiring, firing and disciplining employees.

Do's and Don't of employment interviewing and questioning.

Managing employee benefits.

Stress-free employment appraisals.

Fair Labor Standards Act exemptions and how they affect your business.

Ensuring ROI on new hires through strategic boarding of employees for good fit and maximum productivity.

You also will learn to navigate the dual employment/supervision issues that are unique to onsite Federal contract personnel.

Wanda's classes are highly interactive, so bring all your questions. Wanda will be available during lunch and after class for one-on-one consultations, and by e-mail after the class.
